Chandigarh: Hearing has started on Saturday that today in two cases of murder against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. 50-year-old Gurmeet is currently lodged in Rohtak jail and for hearing the case, he has appeared before the special court of the court, through video conferencing. In the view of security, paramilitary forces and Haryana Police troops have been deployed in Panchkula.
He is facing the sentence of 20 years imprisonment in two cases of rape. CBI court is hearing cases of murder of Ram Chandra Chattrapati and former Dera manager Ranjit Singh. There is provision for life imprisonment or the death penalty for murder.

Haryana’s Director General of Police BS Sandhu said, “We have made strict security arrangements before the hearings in the matter.” He said that to prevent any untoward incident, paramilitary forces and Haryana police detachment have been deployed in Panchkula.
Sandhu said, “In the case against Ram Rahim, the hearing will be done through video conferencing which is closed in Rohtak jail.” In two cases of rape, the special court of the CBI had given Ram Rahim 20 years imprisonment on August 28. CBI counsel HPS Verma said, “In the two murder cases, the final verdict will begin on Saturday.”
Ram Rahim is accused of two murders
According to Ram Rahim, an accused of these two murders was shot dead by journalist Chhatrapati in October 2002. His newspaper ‘Full Truth’ had printed an anonymous letter stating how the women had sexual harassment at the headquarters of Sirsa.
The second case is linked to the murder of Dera manager Ranjeet Singh, who was murdered in 2002. He was assassinated for his doubtful role in broadcasting an unknown letter. Both the victims of the murder had approached the court, after which the Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered a CBI probe in November 2003.
Explain that the CBI filed the charge sheet on July 30, 2007, in the murder case.
