Qualcomm X50 5G Modem
Qualcomm can soon launch commercially equipped smartphones and modems with 5G technology
New Delhi (JnN). During Qualcomm’s 4G / 5G Summit, the company has introduced the Snapdragon X50 5G modem. The company also gave a demo of 5G data connectivity through a single-chip 5G modem. The company showed a demo of 5G texts on different 100 MHz 5G companies and 28 GHz mm spectrum.
Through this 5G modem, the company will provide download speeds of 1 gigabyte per second and a data connection of 28 GHz mmWave radio frequency band will also be made available. SDR051 mmWave RF Transceiver Integrated Circuit (IC) was used for a demo of 5G network. Along with this, Qualcomm also showed the reference design of its first 5G smartphone. Qualcomm’s first company which introduced this 5G modem last year and the company took 12 months to give its demo.
The company is working on providing the 5G modem on a commercial basis till 2019. It was reported that this new technology requires more spectrum bands. Also, VoLTE is also very important for this.
Qualcomm’s Executive Vice President Christine Amon said, “The company has introduced the Snapdragon X50 5G modem chipset on the 28GHz mmWave spectrum. This is very important for the company. This modem and the reference design of our 5G smartphone show how Qualcomm is working on bringing the 5G technology into the mobile device to enhance the broadband experience. “
